The Academy Tennis In Harrogate
The Academy represents one of the most prestigious private tennis clubs in the country with 4 indoor courts and 3 outdoor floodlit courts.
We have an extensive junior coaching programme from 4 year olds upwards and a full adult programme from beginners to advanced. We have a team of 4 professional coaches, all with extensive knowledge and coaching skills, headed by tennis professional Chris Paraskos.
The Academy is a 'LTA Tennis Clubmark' accredited tennis facility subject to annual inspection to meet professional standards of performance and codes of practice.
In the tennis season 2008/2009 The Academy had 3 students who were the highest climbers in UK junior national rankings from outside British top 100 to inside top 20.
Our coaching system also produced a student that improved from outside British top 50 to an ITF junior world ranking of 500, invited by the LTA to tournaments in Turkey and winning an ITF junior doubles tournament in Nicosia, Cyprus
We are also tennis coaching service providers for several leading Harrogate schools

New Starter Mix Sessions
These sessions are designed for new-to-tennis members at beginner to improver level to help integrate new players to tennis at the club.
Thursdays at 9:30-10:30am Price £5.00
Sessions can be booked at reception up to 8 days in advance.
NEW Indoor Courts
The newly refurbished indoor courts were provided by leading UK manufacturer Playrite.
Playrite's Foundation carpet will consistently deliver a rewarding game of tennis for our all our members and their guests. Foundation is a high quality, needle punch surface that offers consistent bounce spin with good grip under foot.

OutdoorCourts - Playright II
As a tennis court, it plays more like a clay court than grass and promotes longer rallies. Its consistent and even medium pace allows for perfect stroke play. It has been developed and refined over several years to provide players with an alternative surface to the traditional sand-filled sports carpets such as Tenniturf.
The dimensional stability of Playright II is well proven, due to the needle punch construction and scrim reinforcement incorporated into the product at the time of manufacture.
Its even, medium pace makes it ideal for coaching, family tennis and competitions. It plays like the very best macadam and grips while damp. Play lines remain prominent throughout the life of the Playright II surface.
Junior Tennis
The Academy provides opportunities for young people from 3 years old upwards, to receive coaching and competition.
Qualified coaches, who have been screened for their suitability to work with young people, conduct all coaching.

British Tennis Membership (BTM)
BTM is free to Academy members until 2012 and now is a compulsory requirement for junior competition. Please visit www.lta.org.uk to sign up. Click on membership and the software will lead you through the easy to use process.
